Imagine Cup 2007

The Imagine Cup competition is one of the leading UK and worldwide competitions for students with a passion for technology. In the UK , there has been a strong focus on running a software design competition which enables teams of 2 to 4 students to get to grips with .NET and Microsoft technology and apply their skills learnt at university to a real-world problem.

The Imagine Cup has a new theme for 2007:
'Imagine a world where technology enables a better education for all...'. Microsoft are challenging teams of students to write software using the latest Microsoft .NET 2.0 technology and help solve some of the big educational problems faced by our society today.

The prizes available to students winning the UK final are fantastic, and include a project development plan to take the winning team and their software to the next level, a fully funded trip to India , and of course the latest games consoles and games. One other major benefit - perhaps not as obvious - is the increase in the professional skills and marketability of the student - many of the finalists get to meet with top industry recruiters and take graduate positions with them: competitors in previous years are working at BT, Microsoft, Rare, and Accenture amongst others.
