The John Campbell Dissertation Bursary
The Dissertation Bursary forms one of a portfolio of awards offered by the Trust. It is intended for a student on a first degree or postgraduate course in information or library studies who has to prepare a project report or dissertation as part of the course. Choice of subject is often constrained by financial considerations and the purpose of the Bursary is to enable each Award winner to undertake a study which would necessarily involve travelling to collect the required information or data or to visit appropriate people or organisations. The Bursary will provide finance to a maximum of £1000 for travelling, accommodation or other incidental expenses. More than one Bursary may be offered if acceptable proposals for smaller-scale projects are submitted with budgets of, say, £300-500. Retrospective awards will not be considered.
The deadline for the call for Dissertation Bursary applications is 16 June 2008 , Award winners of the Dissertation Bursary will be informed by 1 August 2008. A holder of a dissertation bursary should complete his/her project by the end of July 2009.
