Student Essay Award 2011 Winner

The Higher Education Academy - Subject Centre for Information and Computer Sciences offered students the chance to share their opinions and experiences in a 900 - 1,100 word essay. The title of the essay was:

"'Flexible learning' is a current buzz phrase; how do you envisage the perfect flexible learning course?"

The Subject Centre would like to congratulate Hayley Ladbury, Susan Johnson and Patricia Wolf for winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd price respectively. Hayley won £300 for her essay, while Susan won £100 and Patricia won £50. You can find the full text of the essays on PDF format below:

Student Essay Award 2010 Winner

The Higher Education Academy - Subject Centre for Information and Computer Sciences offered students the chance to share their opinions and experiences in a 900 - 1,100 word essay. The title of the essay was:

"How does the reality of studying Information Science match your initial expectations?"

We had very good submissions this year and choosing a winner was not an easy task. The Subject Centre would like to congratulate Francesca Gomez, Andrea Ennis and Charlee Riley for winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd price respectively. Student Essay Award 2009 Winner

The Higher Education Academy - Subject Centre for Information and Computer Sciences offered students the chance to share their opinions and experiences in a 900 - 1,100 word essay. The title of the essay was:

"Who or what was the inspiration for choosing your current course of study?"

Students Essay Award 2007/2008 Winners

The Higher Education Academy - Subject Centre for Information and Computer Sciences offered students the chance to share their opinions and experiences in a 900 - 1,100 word essay. The title of the essay was:

"What makes a good lecturer?"

The Subject Centre would like to congratulate the two winning entries.

Nicholas Atkinson from St Andrews University who won £250 for the Computing Science competition and Victoria Robinson from Loughborough University who won £250 for the ILS competition.

The Centre would also like to highly commend two entries from CS namely; Peter Clayton from Durham University and Kathy Crosby from London Metropolitan University and two from ILS namely; Valerie Healy from MMU and Ellen Waters from the University of Brighton.
