Student Project of the Year

This is an external competition held by Computing Awards for Excellence 2008

If you are a student studying IT and have worked on a specific project as part of your studies Computing would like to hear from you!

The best project completed by a student at any level of education with the potential to advance, improve or develop IT that will have a wider use in the private or public sector.


Entry Criteria
Your entry will be judged against, and therefore must meet, the following criteria:

  • Return on Investment: how the project has improved your organisation and developed a competitive advantage or enhanced public services
  • Innovation: has the project introduced new or leading-edge technologies, created different ways of working or supported change in business direction?
  • Future Growth: how will the project be developed and how will it support future growth or change in the organisation?
  • Management: was the project completed on time and to budget? What lessons have been learnt by the implementation team to improve management of future projects? Were the overall project objectives achieved?
  • Excellence: does the project demonstrate that the use of technology is a vital enabler to improving organisational excellence, competitiveness or quality of service?

Requirements
Submit a 750 word (maximum) synopsis detailing the purpose of the project, the problems set, how these were overcome, budget and timings, business objectives and the outcome. You may also provide evidence of feedback received from your tutor/lecturer or examining board. Any project entered must have been completed by 7th July 2008
