Around the UK - EnglandRegional representativesThe Subject Centre has established a network of regional representatives throughout UK Higher Education Institutions to ensure that every region is aware of, and can avail of, the work and the services provided by the Subject Centre and to facilitate the dissemination of identified best practice. Our regional representatives for England are: Higher Education Academy (HEA) EnglandThe Academy supports the higher education sector in England through its UK-wide services, direct work with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and close relations with English organisations and groups. The Higher Education Funding Council for England funds us to undertake a number of activities specific to England and Northern Ireland, including e-learning, employer engagement and the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme. Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE)Working in partnership, the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) promotes and funds high-quality, cost-effective teaching and research, meeting the diverse needs of students, the economy and society. Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC)JISC is funded by the UK HE and FE funding bodies to provide world-class leadership in the innovative use of ICT to support education and research. JISC funds a national services portfolio (e.g. JANET) and a range of programmes (e.g. Use of Technology to Support Admissions to HE) and projects (e.g. Google Generation project).
