Introduction

Assessment resources provided by the Higher Education Academy Subject Centre for Information and Computer Sciences, currently comprise the following.


General Assessment

These pages are aimed to target discipline-specific issues related to assessment. However, we have compiled a short list of generic resources which we have found to be helpful.

Computer Assisted Design

We have reviewed twelve CAA products, both academic and commercial, which are tools that might be used for CAA within the ICS disciplines. A detailed and a summary report are provided, together with a review of each product.

Plagiarism Detection and Prevention

These pages contain links to useful Plagiarism-related sites, and the results on an (ongoing) exercise reviewing tools and packages which can be used for assist staff in the process of preventing and detecting plagiarism within the ICS disciplines.

Assessment of Group Work

These pages contain information about the Assessment of Group Work within the ICS disciplines. The purpose is twofold:

  • to give the reader a broad overview of the issues involved in assessing group work in general, and software group projects in particular; and
  • to offer the reader a collection of resources to support the assessment of ICS group projects.
