Computing disciplines often seem to have a particular problem with retention. Is this due to specific characteristics of the discipline itself? Is it something to do with the background of the students choosing to study these subjects? Or is the key problem something completely different? |

This has many implications in terms of recruitment, student support, quality control and, perhaps most importantly, the diverse teaching and learning needs of this student group. These presentaions focus on a wide variety of topics including international student recruitment, the expectations of such students, and techniques to ensure the quality of the student experience. Strategic issues including the implications of the Bologna Agreement and the impact of off-shoring are also be discussed. |
