Workshop on Research - Teaching Nexus

Wed 1st Apr, 2009

Later this month the HEA-ICS and the Maths, Stats & OR Network (MSOR) are running a workshop on the Research - Teaching Nexus.  Places are still available.

The workshop will take place on 29th April at the University of Dundee and will explore various aspects of Research - Teaching linkages.

The aim of the Quality Assurance Agency’s Research-Teaching Linkages: Enhancing Graduate Attributes enhancement theme is to look at how links between research strategies and activities can best support the student learning experience in ways that can enhance learner achievement of research-type attributes.

This one-day event focuses on findings for Information and Mathematical Sciences from the QAA (Scotland) funded project run by the University of Dundee and is organised with support from the HEA-ICS and HEA-MSOR. Participants will have the opportunity to:-

  • consider recommendations from the draft report
  • discuss case studies that illustrate particular issues
  • identify implications for teaching, learning and management
  • contribute to and influence results and plans for the enhancement theme

Case studies will be introduced during the day, these will be followed up in workshops, including the opportunity to explore how to incorporate research topics into teaching.
