Submission Guidelines

If possible, session submissions should relate to the conference topics. Further details about the conference topics can be found on the conference topics webpage.

In all sessions it is expected that delegates will have an opportunity to actively participate in the session.  Further details about each of the session categories is provided below.

Paper presentation (30 minutes)

Paper proposals should describe original work which has given rise to substantial results, has made a significant impact on educational practice or has resulted in a change in departmental policy. The 3 best papers will be selected for publication in the HE Academy-ICS refereed e-Journal "ITALICS". The presentation should last a maximum of 20 minutes allowing the audience opportunity for commentary and questions in the remaining 10 minutes.
Please ensure that your paper proposal is no longer than five A4 pages and includes an abstract of up to 150 words.

Workshop (60 minutes)

Hands-on workshops involve active audience participation and discussion. Participants should have the opportunity to develop new skills or practical ideas for integration within their own teaching. We encourage session presenters to submit a linked poster for their session in order to disseminate their work to all conference delegates. Please ensure that your workshop proposal outlining the rationale and format of the session is no longer than one page.

Poster

Poster demonstrations provide an opportunity to exhibit material which is best suited to being presented interactively and provide a forum for colleagues to share their views and experiences. Interactive posters which demonstrate works in progress are encouraged. There will be timetabled sessions within the conference programme for delegates to view the posters and to engage in discussion with the authors.
Please ensure that your poster proposal is no longer than one page.
