Submission GuidelinesSubmissions are being called for papers, panel/discussion sessions, workshops and posters. If possible, session submissions should relate to the conference topics. Further details about the conference topics can be found on the conference topics webpage. In all sessions it is expected that delegates will have an opportunity to actively participate in the session. Further details about each of the session categories is provided below. Paper presentation (30 minutes)Paper proposals should describe original work which has given rise to substantial results, has made a significant impact on educational practice or has resulted in a change in departmental policy. The 3 best papers will be selected for publication in the HE Academy-ICS refereed e-Journal "ITALICS". The presentation should last a maximum of 20 minutes allowing the audience opportunity for commentary and questions in the remaining 10 minutes. Panel/Discussion Session (60 minutes)Panel sessions will provide a forum for the exploration of a hot topic among expert panel members and between a panel and the audience. Please consider submitting a panel which fits into one of the conference topics.
The panel organizer must select appropriate panelists who agree to participate, obtain position statements from these panelists, and integrate the statements into the abstract before submitting the panel proposal. Workshop (60 minutes)Hands-on workshops involve active audience participation and discussion. Participants should have the opportunity to develop new skills or practical ideas for integration within their own teaching. We encourage session presenters to submit a linked poster for their session in order to disseminate their work to all conference delegates. Please ensure that your workshop proposal outlining the rationale and format of the session is no longer than one page. PosterPoster demonstrations provide an opportunity to exhibit material which is best suited to being presented interactively and provide a forum for colleagues to share their views and experiences. Interactive posters which demonstrate works in progress are encouraged. There will be timetabled sessions within the conference programme for delegates to view the posters and to engage in discussion with the authors. How To SubmitTo submit a proposal for any of the above categories a downloadable Word version of the proposal form is available (DOC, 68KB).
