Resources

The Centre for Information and Computer Sciences provides a range of resources to help in teaching and curriculum development. If you know of a resource that you feel would be useful to the wider Information and Computer Sciences community then please let us know .

Supporting Staff

Our aim is to lead, support and inform the professional development and recognition of staff in higher education. In this section find out about how to become a Fellow of the Academy, a guide on getting started in Computer Science education research, the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme and support for new staff.

Supporting Learning

A series of guides designed to provide help and information on the key themes in teaching and learning such as assessment, student retention, HE in FE, accessibility and disability, widening participation etc.

This section provides Information and Computer Sciences academics the ability to pose questions to the wider ICS community.

Book reviews

The Centre receives many new books from publishers and would like to offer Information and Computer Sciences academics the opportunity to review these. Reviewers get the opportunity to keep and evaluate the book and publish their review on the ICS website.

A number of reusable learning objects have been developed as part of the recent development fund project.

A place to share your gadgets stories. We are aiming to host any story, successful or not, in which a new technology has been used in order to try and enhance the student learning experience.  Have your podcasts failed miserably? Is your SMS communication system a perfect match to your students? Was giving students a free iPod at the start of the semester a good idea?  Can you prove that using this technology made an impact on the students learning?  Let us know!
