Abstract

This paper describes the use of a simulated coding factory to engage and motivate students studying Software Development. This approach was initially developed to cater for the needs of a cohort of students with a wide range of ability but became a framework to try out some innovative techniques. The practical difficulties and the advantages of such an approach are explored together with advice for those who would like to try this approach themselves.
