Abstract
Examining the environmental support for both individual and group work at Durham University gave evidence for deficiencies in supporting group work. The evidence for this was derived from two sources: a focus group, and a questionnaire. A number of design guidelines have been derived from this evidence, and used to create a suitable environment to support group work. This environment was then evaluated using a second focus group, and backed up by evidence from a questionnaire. This experience report indicates that Durham University has succeeded in providing an environment that better supports group work
